Welcome to Tomorrow's Money
As your State Treasurer it’s my privilege to help our state save and wisely invest our public resources to benefit all West Virginians. I want to help you do the same for you and your family. That’s why my office has created several Financial Education Initiatives – to help give West Virginia residents the tools and encouragement they need to best use, save and invest their money to realize their financial goals. Whether your goal is to go to college, or pay for a child’s education; to become a homeowner; to retire comfortably--whatever your personal goal is, saving and investing is what will help make that dream a reality.
That’s why my office created the “Bank at School” programs for fifth and sixth graders statewide to begin learning early how to view and use money. We have also worked with the National Endowment for Financial Education to create similar classes for high school students. We have had a tremendous response to our adult financial education classes and our Women & Money Conference. I believe that people want to know how to take the steps to be more financially secure and to make the most out of their money. But they often need just a little bit of help and motivation to begin taking the steps, one by one, to get there.
I’m pleased to announce that as part of my Financial Education initiatives, my office is joining forces with a non-profit partner, The SIFMA Foundation, to bring you tools, information and motivation to help you feel more confident about managing your personal finances.
The SIFMA Foundation has created westvirginia.tomorrowsmoney.org, a suite of 5 non-profit websites to give people basic, easily-accessible information on personal finance concepts in order to help all West Virginia residents begin to mange, save and to invest their finances. Additionally, the sites offer uniquely tailored information for women, young people, Spanish-speaking Americans, and people who have recently suffered an unexpected change such as the loss of a spouse or job.
All of the material on the site is free, and nothing is bought or sold off the site. You can be assured that your privacy is strictly protected. Please take a minute to visit our partnership site and begin taking control of your financial future today. Click on one of the links to the right to begin, or click here to learn more about how to address personal finance challenges and opportunities facing others just like you.
